First Holy Communion
About This Sacrament
First Holy Communion is the moment when a child receives the Eucharist for the first time. This beautiful sacrament completes Christian initiation and brings the child into full participation in the Holy Mass. Proper catechetical preparation ensures the child understands the Real Presence of Christ.
- Schedule
First Communion is celebrated annually in June. Catechism classes begin in previous year.
- Requirements
- Child must be at least 7 years of age
- Must have received Baptism
- One year of catechism preparation
- First Confession before First Communion
